What is option 40 in the army?

My fiancé is thinking of doing option 40 in the army and the airborne i don't know very much about this and he wanted me to look into it more but I can't really find nothing about it.so I would appreciate it if someone can help me out. Thanks. A link would help too

It's a RASP Contract.

He'll go to Ft. Benning for 14wks of Infantry training. Stay there 3wks longer for Airborne School if he doesnt get injured and graduates he'll Then go to RASP where he'll get the **** smoked out of him in an attempt to make him quit. If he doesnt quit and doesnt get injured he'll be placed in the US Militarys ONLY Elite Infantry unit, the 75th Ranger Regiment. They're special ops, the lesser of the cool guys in the movie "black hawk down"

Why does he want you to look into what he's thinking of doing ... shouldn't he be doing the looking into? What are you, his research assistant?

I believe Option 40 is a Ranger Contract...he will go to Basic, AIT, Airborne and RASP and provided everything is passed and he is accepted he will be placed into the 75th Ranger Regiment.
